Senior Staff Specialist / Staff Specialist - Anaesthesia

The Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist - Anaesthesia will be located in Gladstone but may provide anaesthesia assistance to cover Biloela, Emerald and Rockhampton Hospitals as required. Provision of the full range of anaesthetic services including general and regional anaesthesia, obstetric services including epidural/spinal anaesthesia.

The Staff Specialist will provide safe, high quality anaesthetic clinical services and assist in the provision of direction, service planning and clinical governance to the Anaesthetic Team, Pre-Admission Clinic, and the High Dependency Unit. The successful anaesthetist may be required to carry out some work in Rockhampton and other sites. This will allow the successful candidate to attend peer review, education and anaesthetic meetings with the Rockhampton Anaesthetic Department.

Salary Information (L18 – L24; L25 – L27):

Total remuneration value of up to $466,747 p.a. (L27) or $427,075 p.a. (L24) is comprised of:

  • A salary between $188,800 - $219,301 p.a. (L18 – L24) or
  • A salary between $225,777 - $239,377 p.a. (L25 – L27)
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading

Additional benefits to this role include:

  • Professional Development Allowance ($21,000 p.a.)
  • Motor Vehicle Allowance
  • Over-time and on-call allowances
  • Attraction and Retention Incentive Allowance (Granted Private Practice arrangements)
  • Inaccessibility Incentive Allowance of $6,900 p.a. (100% paid on completion of twelve months.
  • 25% paid in three-monthly instalments thereafter.)
