About us:

Gladstone Hospital is an 83-bed facility providing general and specialist inpatient and outpatient care, including emergency, surgery, obstetrics, paediatrics, coronary care, and palliative care. Additional services cover mental health, addiction support, oral health, physiotherapy, dietetics, and speech pathology. It also operates community-based facilities, a Primary Health Care Centre in Boyne Valley, and the newly acquired West Wing for extended medical and private specialist services. With approximately 392 full-time staff, the hospital delivers acute, community, and primary care.

About the role:

The Clinical Director, Anaesthesia & Perioperative Medicine Gladstone will lead and inspire excellence in clinical care, staff development, and service delivery across CQ Health. Reporting to the Director of Medical Services - Gladstone & Banana, you will oversee staff across multiple streams, including education and supervision.

Key responsibilities include upholding CQ Health values, ensuring high-quality anaesthetic services, driving safety and quality improvements, managing resources effectively, supporting research and education, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation. You will also promote workplace health and safety while meeting professional development and training requirements.

About you:

  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Specialist registration or eligibility in Anaesthesia with AHPRA, requiring FANZCA.
  • Enrolment and maintenance of ongoing CME program with the appropriate bodies.

Salary information:

Total remuneration value of up to $528,444 p.a. is comprised of:

  • A salary rate between $210,332 - $266,677 p.a. (L18 – L27)
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
