About us:

Gladstone Hospital is an 83-bed facility offering a wide range of general and specialist services, including emergency, medical, surgical, maternity, and critical care. It also provides mental health, allied health, and community outreach, plus a Primary Health Care Centre and the new West Wing for extended medical and surgical services. The hospital has approximately 392 staff across all care areas.

About the role:

The Clinical Director, Anaesthesia & Perioperative Medicine Gladstone is a leadership role responsible for ensuring high-quality anaesthesia services across CQ Health. This position involves leading, inspiring, and developing staff, including trainees and students, while reporting to the Director of Medical Services – Gladstone & Banana. Key responsibilities include upholding CQ Health's values, driving continuous quality and safety improvements, managing risks, engaging in professional development, promoting health and safety standards, optimizing resource allocation, and supporting academic and research activities.

About you:

  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Registration or eligibility for registration as a Specialist in Anaesthesia with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Authority (AHPRA). This will require Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA).
  • Enrolment and maintenance of ongoing CME program with the appropriate bodies.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $483,600 p.a. (L24) or $528,444 p.a. (L27) is comprised of:

  • A salary rate between $210,332- $244,313 p.a. (L18 – L24)
  • A salary rate between $251,527 - $266,677 p.a. (L25 – L27)
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
