An exciting opportunity is currently available for a Director of Intensive Care Unit to join the Intensive Care Unit at the Bundaberg Hospital within the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service. The Wide Bay area is arguably one of the most beautiful regions of Queensland. The Health Service stretches from Agnes Water in the North to Maryborough in the South and provides acute care services to a population of over 200,000 residents including several rural communities.

Remuneration value up to $409,585 p.a., comprising salary between $171,044 - $216,865 p.a. (L18–L27), clinical managers allowance, motor vehicle allowance, professional development allowance, professional development leave 3.6 weeks p.a., professional indemnity cover and private practice arrangements. Overtime and on-call allowances will be negotiated with the successful applicant upon appointment. Superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) will be applied additionally to the total remuneration value. (Permanent Full Time, 80 hours p.f.) The Purpose of the Role: This position is responsible for the professional oversight and leadership of the clinical services and activities; and high quality administrative management of the Intensive Care Unit. The Director will provide a specialist clinical consultant service to the Bundaberg Hospital and clinical expertise in planning intensive care services for the Bundaberg Hospital. The role also provides high quality clinical and non-clinical services to directly or indirectly benefit the patients/clients of the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service and encompasses all the roles described in the CanMEDs framework. This includes research as well as teaching the health professionals of the future.

Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) Requirements: It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment:

• Measles • Mumps • Rubella • Varicella (chicken pox) • Pertussis (whooping cough) • Hepatitis B

Existing staff that are engaged prior to 1 July 2016 are not subject to this condition of employment unless they apply for a role with VPD requirements that is within a different Queensland Health entity (ie one HHS to another HHS, Department to a HHS, or HHS to Department). For those staff self assessing as coming from a background where there is a high incidence of Tuberculosis (TB), they are encouraged to arrange screening and follow up with the Metro South Clinical Tuberculosis Services on (07) 3176 4141 or (07) 3176 4166
