An exciting opportunity is currently available for experienced Resident Medical Officers to join the Intensive Care Unit, Departments of Anaesthetics or Surgery and Emergency Medicine at the Hervey Bay and Maryborough Hospitals within the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service. The Wide Bay area is arguably one of the most beautiful regions of Queensland. The Health Service stretches from Agnes Water in the North to Maryborough in the South and provides acute care services to a population of over 200,000 residents including several rural communities.

Your opportunity:

  • The Resident Medical Officer will assist in the provision of high-quality Emergency, Intensive Care, Anaesthetic and Surgical services to patients and their families in the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service, under the appropriate supervision of Consultants, Registrars and Principal House Officers.

Several Temporary Full Time Positions (76 hours p.f.) for a period of twelve months.

Covid 19 Vaccination: It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against COVID-19 (Health Employment Directive No. 12/21 and  Queensland Health Human Resources Policy B70)

Prior to being made an offer of employment, you will be required to demonstrate immunity to the following Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD): Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (chicken pox) and Pertussis (whooping cough).

From 9th December 2019 all new employees will be required to be assessed for their risk of Tuberculosis (TB).  For further information regarding TB please visit Queensland Health website: Tuberculosis

Our offer:

You will receive a competitive remuneration package value up to $114,594 p.a., comprising salary between $90,320 - $96,973 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) Vocational Training Subsidy (L2-L3) (Several Temporary Full Time Positions, 76 hours p.f., for a period of twelve months).
