An exciting opportunity is currently available for experienced Registrars or Principal House Officers to join the Intensive Care Team at the Hervey Bay and Maryborough Hospitals within the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service. The Wide Bay area is arguably one of the most beautiful regions of Queensland. The Health Service stretches from Agnes Water in the North to Maryborough in the South and provides acute care services to a population of over 200,000 residents including several rural communities.

Your opportunity:
- To provide leadership to junior residents working in the same clinical unit. The Hervey Bay Hospital is a teaching hospital of the University of Queensland Rural Clinical School. Student placements occur throughout the year and medical staff is expected to work with the Clinical School in the education program.
- This position description is general for all Principal House Officer's in the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service and specific duties will vary dependent upon the clinical specialty. For this role, 6 monthly PHO rotations may be organised between the Departments of Intensive Care and Internal Medicine based on clinical service priorities and existing reciprocal recruitment arrangements. Each position is supervised by senior medical staff, although a reasonable degree of autonomy is expected.
Several Temporary Full Time Positons (76 hours p.f.) for a period of up to twelve months.
Covid 19 Vaccination: It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against COVID-19 (Health Employment Directive No. 12/21 and Queensland Health Human Resources Policy B70)

You will receive a competitive remuneration package value up to $159,810p.a., comprising salary rates between $118,444 - $136,602 p.a. (L4-L9) or salary rates between $118,444 - $129,976 p.a. (L4-L7), employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) and vocational training subsidy.
