Cross River Rail Delivery Authority (CRRDA)…Your chance to work with the best!
Cross River Rail will transform the way we travel to, from and through Brisbane in the future. It will be a catalyst for 10 years of wider rail transformation across the whole of South East Queensland and it is already playing a key role in how we prepare for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Cross River Rail is a new 10.2km rail line including 5.9km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and CBD. It includes the delivery of four new underground stations, two new above-ground stations, accessibility rebuilds for six stations, the construction of three new stations on the Gold Coast, and the introduction of a new world-class ‘ETCS' signalling system.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to work on one of Australia's largest infrastructure projects and to be a part of something that will leave a lasting legacy for generations to come.
About the Role
The MEP Interface Manager is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the delivery, integration and consultation and stakeholder engagement activities relating to mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) systems across Cross River Rail's new underground stations and tunnel network.
This role is a key interface function across internal teams, external contractors, and public stakeholders, ensuring that MEP systems — including tunnel ventilation, fire and life safety systems, lifts, HVAC, water services and electrical distribution are designed, delivered, and commissioned to meet technical, operational, safety, and stakeholder requirements. You'll lead technical working groups, coordinate with subject matter experts and contractors, and provide advice and updates to project leadership.
This opportunity is offered as a fixed term contract until May 2027 with possible extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate MEP delivery and integration across project phases.
- Facilitate technical forums and working groups to resolve technical issues, interface risks and delivery constraints.
- Maintain relationships between internal teams and external contractors and stakeholders.
- Manage risks, scope gaps and design change impacts.
- Engage with external consultants, suppliers and engineering advisors regarding technical issues and advice.
- Provide briefings and technical advice on MEP risks, design changes and stakeholder impacts.
- Support planning for commissioning and handover of MEP systems.
- Track and monitor MEP activities, support program controls in maintaining accurate schedules and contribute to program reporting.
- Maintain traceability of coordination decisions and stakeholder agreements.
About You:
- Senior experience in MEP systems delivery on major infrastructure or construction projects.
- Proven ability to integrate mechanical and electrical scope within constructability, operations, and maintenance requirements.
- Broad exposure to a wide range of MEP systems including HVAC, lifts, fire and life systems and their associated design and coordination.
- Skilled in stakeholder coordination and technical working group facilitation
- Experience engaging technical SME's across disciplines to support delivery.
- Able to communicate complex issues to technical and non-technical audiences
- Experienced in project management, performance reporting and risk management.
- Experience in underground structures, tunnel ventilation or rail infrastructure highly regarded but not essential.
