Teach Queensland Queensland Academy for Science Mathematics and Technology (QASMT) is seeking a dedicated Japanese teacher to work in collaboration with our team. We are an academically selective entry, co-educational, state governed high school, offering exclusively the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum to students in Years 7 - 12. Applications are encouraged from experienced and passionate teachers, experience with the International Baccalaureate programs is not essential.

QASMT is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School and is proud to uphold the values of an IB education. We are expanding our cohort from the current Year 10-12 program to a Year 7-12 program, with Year 7 commencing in 2019. QASMT currently offers the IB Diploma Programme (IB DP) as its core curriculum in Years 11 and 12. The IB DP is a demanding pre-university course of study assessed by external examinations. It has earned a reputation for rigorous learning and assessment, and as such gives IB DP holders access to the world's leading universities. QASMT will offer the IB Middle Years Programme (IB MYP) with the inclusion of Year 7 - 9 in our school community. QASMT is partnered with the University of Queensland who offer a range of enrichment programs to nurture highly capable students.

We are seeking a high calibre, outstanding teacher with an interest in evidence-based pedagogy and data informed teaching practice. Our Professional Learning Community focuses on collaborative and innovative teaching practices in striving for continual improvement.   • Employment for pre-service/graduate teachers will be subject to the successful completion of a relevant teaching qualification and meeting the minimum requirements as a teacher with the department.

  • Persons who reside in Australia and have permission or a right to be granted permission, under Commonwealth law, to remain in Australia indefinitely.
  • New Zealand citizens who have a special category visa or a right to be granted a special category visa under the Migration Act 1958.
