About the role

Permanent full time opportunity to provide cultural leadership throughout Metro North Mental Health (MNMH) and lead activities to ensure services are culturally appropriate; including the coordination of continuous quality improvement initiatives, consumer engagement and liaison, staff education, review and monitoring of improvement, risks and performance indicators to ensure optimum standards and outcomes for consumers and compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Demonstrate high level interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with all staff members across Metro North Mental Health.
  • Lead the implementation of an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural capability plan, outlining strategies to improve the identification, data collection, monitoring, reporting and analysis of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Key Performance Indicators within MNMH.
  • Coordinate the development, implementation and evaluation of quality improvement activities that address the needs and perspectives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through consumer, community and stakeholder engagement.
  • Provide Metro North Mental Health employees with, or support access to, cultural advice, support, guidance and appropriate cultural education.
  • Contribute to the development of culturally appropriate promotional resources and tools for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander consumers, and ensure they are reviewed and updated.
