Striving for Excellence in the Delivery of Rural and Remote Health Care

The North West Hospital and Health Service (NWHHS) covers an area of over 300,000 square kilometres and services the rural and remote communities within North Western Queensland and the Gulf of Carpentaria. The Health Service includes the City of Mount Isa and the towns and areas of Burketown, Camooweal, Cloncurry, Dajarra, Doomadgee, Julia Creek, Karumba, Normanton and Mornington Island.

Cloncurry is a Multipurpose Health Service that has 15 acute care beds, 10 Aged Care beds Community Health Centre, X-Ray department and Pharmacy. Visiting services include Child Health, and Immunisations, working closely with Central West Queensland Medicare Local, Centacare and Blue Care. A range of visiting specialists include Paediatrician, Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, General Surgeon, Woman's Health Nurse, Renal Nurse Practitioner.

The ideal applicant will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Proven ability to comprehensively assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care at an advanced level within a complex environment in the Community Health specialty
  • Knowledge of legislation, professional standards, policy and procedure as they apply to this role
  • Proven ability to provide advanced nursing leadership in the clinical and professional setting including the role modelling of effective communication and problem solving
  • Proven ability to lead and facilitate the development of clinical governance and practice standards required in provision and delivery of safe and quality care

Remuneration package salary range of $2170.65 - $2356.60 p.f. (NG6), recreational leave loading (17.5%), employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%), Professional Development allowance, Locality allowance, Laundry allowance and RANIP

This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role
