About the Role

This is a OO2 progression position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the OO2 classification with eligibility for progression to the OO3 level once specific criteria have been met. Please note salary rate shown is reflective of OO2 to OO3 classification range.  

As the Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities you will contribute to the efficient and effective operation and environment of the school by providing a high level of grounds and facilities maintenance.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparation of halls and classrooms for regular school activities
  • General store duties including checking, storing and distributing school supplies and stocks such as soaps, towels, apparatus and general materials.
  • Maintaining various accurate school registers and the use of computers with pre-established programs.
  • Stocktaking and recording/engraving of school equipment/furniture and assets.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements including maintenance of a safe work environment.
  • Assist with requirements for significant events such as fetes, plays and major sporting events.
  • Preparation and maintenance of school ovals by way of regular mowing, watering and soil maintenance.
  • Preparation, marking and general care of all outdoor sporting facilities.
  • Planting, watering and care of trees, shrubs, gardens.
  • Care of lawns and gardens, including regular weeding and the use of appropriate insecticides and fertilisers where necessary.
  • Order and/or collect general grounds care supplies and materials.
  • Ground improvement, enhancement activities as well as maintain and conduct minor repairs to grounds.
