Head of Special Education Services - Petrie Terrace State School

Petrie Terrace State School is a small school with an enrolment of approximately 260 students. We are seeking applications for a temporary full-time Head of Special Education Services (HOSES) for a period of 12 months, unless otherwise determined.
The HOSES at Petrie Terrace State School is a
pivotal member of the leadership team who promotes and leads inclusive practices within the school community. The Hoses will foster partnerships with families and build the capability of staff. The role will require the successful applicant to support students across all year levels to successfully engage in
learning and realise their potential.

About the Role
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Manage and coordinate the delivery of high-quality advice and support provided by the Special Education Program and/or Early Childhood Development Program.
- Lead and manage the Special Education Program and/or Early Childhood Development Program to provide advice to classroom teachers for students with disability as needed.
- Provide high quality advice to the school leadership team, classroom teachers and other school staff to develop, plan and implement effective reasonable adjustments for students with disability.
- Coordinate and provide intensive targeted teaching for students requiring intervention.
