An exciting opportunity exists for a passionate educator to join the leadership team at Caboolture State High School in the role of Head of Special Education Services (HOSES) - Special Education Program.
Caboolture State High School, known for its strong support of students with disabilities, has re-visioned its 2025 model to emphasise
targeted disability support following a trial of a fully inclusive approach.
As the Head of Special Education Services, you will play an integral role in shaping and promoting an inclusive school culture, aligned with the Queensland Department of Education’s Equity and Excellence strategy.
This role is until 12 December 2025, unless otherwise determined.

Your Opportunity
As the Head of Special Education Services, you will:
- Promote an inclusive culture and practices within the school community to ensure equity and excellence for students with disability.
- Develop and support a high quality of teaching and adjustments for students with disability in accordance to related legislation and policies.
- The Head of Special Education reports to the Principal.
Your Responsibilities and Skills
As the Head of Special Education Services, your responsibilities and skills will include, but are not limited to:
- Promote an inclusive culture and practices within the school community to ensure equity and excellence for students with disability.
- Develop and support a high quality of teaching and adjustments for students with disability in accordance to related legislation and policies.
- Proven expertise in supporting diverse learners, with demonstrated teaching excellence that leads to improved engagement, participation, and learning outcomes for students with a broad range of abilities and needs.
- Demonstrated curriculum leadership, with the ability to design, implement and monitor inclusive practices that support the achievement of high-quality outcomes for all students.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with students, staff, families, and external stakeholders.
- Strong organisational and resource management skills, with the capacity to strategically allocate and manage staff, time, and resources to support the delivery of high-quality inclusive education.
- Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and evidence to inform decision-making, drive continuous improvement, and contribute to strategic school planning.
