EOI - Teacher Aide - Toowong State School

Toowong State School is seeking expressions of interest of teacher aides to join our teamed of highly skilled and passionate Teacher Aides.

Our Teacher Aides deliver small group learning moments working to a structured timetable throughout the day.

We are looking for people who have experience in delivering learning moments based in the science of reading and working within the Reading Commitment of Queensland State Schools.

We are specifically looking for someone to join our team who has experience in delivering small group systematic synthetic phonics instruction. The work is 4 days a week with 24 hours of rostered hours + 12.5% for holiday break accruals.

Your opportunity:

  • Support teachers and students with classroom learning, literacy and numeracy activities, including individual and small-group support.
  • Assist with student supervision across classroom, playground, bus and school activity settings, including excursions.
  • Provide support to students with additional needs, including assistance with personal care and other activities where appropriate training is provided.
  • Assist with the preparation, organisation and maintenance of teaching materials, equipment and classroom resources, along with associated clerical tasks.
  • Contribute to student wellbeing and safety by maintaining appropriate records, handling information sensitively and assisting with first aid where suitably qualified.
