Occupational Therapist - Advanced Clinical - Spinal Injuries Unit

The Spinal Injury Unit, Division of Allied Health are looking for an Occupational Therapist – Advanced Clinical to join their team. The Spinal injury Unit (SIU) is managed within the Division of Allied Health and Rehabilitation Services at the Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH). As a state-wide service and part of the Queensland Spinal Cord Injuries Service (QSCIS), the PAH SIU is the sole specialised SCI inpatient service in Queensland with expertise in acute treatment and super specialty rehabilitation for people with traumatic and non-congenital/ non traumatic SCI.

About the Role 

  • Deliver advanced clinical and consultancy services to patients with a Spinal Cord Injury in accordance with accepted professional practices, legal and ethical requirements with a high degree of independence.
  • Provide professional leadership and responsibility for development of relevant clinical practices, procedures and protocols.
  • Apply advanced level independent professional judgment regarding the assessment and treatment planning of complex patients.
  • Demonstrate high-level clinical leadership and mentoring support to less experienced clinicians to problem solve urgent and emergent complex clinical issues.
