About the Program

Located on the TAFE Queensland campus in the Redlands, this Senior Studies program offers Year 11 and 12 students in the Greater Brisbane area a practical and supportive alternative to traditional high school.

With a current enrolment of 240 students, the program provides a flexible learning environment where students can complete their Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) and, if desired, work towards an Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) for university entry.

Through collaboration with TAFE Queensland, students can also undertake vocational education and training (VET) courses, enhancing their employability and career prospects.

About the Role

As a Head of Department - Inclusion and Student Engagement, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the teaching and learning component of the program leading to the achievement of quality and improved learning outcomes for all students.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and capacity to sustain productive relationships within and beyond the school community, including students and families from diverse backgrounds and community agencies.
  • Being proactive, innovative and ability to use strategic thinking and analytical skills to contribute to educational outcomes at a school level, whilst ensuring legislative requirements are met will also be necessary.
  • A sound knowledge of individual personal learning and support of students is beneficial. Preparing data and analysis of attendance and NCCD requirements will be a key responsibility for the successful applicant.

This position will support the Head of Campus and Guidance Officer with their roles in ensuring legislative and department requirements are met.
