Tuckshop Convenor - Tingalpa State School

Tingalpa State School is looking for a dedicated Tuckshop Convenor to take charge of the daily operations of our vibrant school canteen. In this hands-on role, you’ll supervise staff, manage food prep, and serve up fresh, nutritious meals in a warm and welcoming
environment. If you’re organised, community-minded, and passionate about healthy food, we’d love to have you on our team!
This position is being offered in a Temporary Part-Time capacity (0.53FTE), 40 hours per fortnight + Accumulated Day Off.

Over the past five years the school canteen has had various refurbishments and now also includes a Coffee Nook, providing café quality beverages for the parents and staff of the school community. We are interested in a person who is innovative and creative with developing fresh, nutritious, home cooked, child friendly and cost-effective menus to encourage healthy eating options and create interest in our canteen.
- Plan, prepare, and serve fresh, cooked meals for students and staff
- Oversee tuckshop operations, including stock ordering, budgeting, and compliance
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety
- Work as part of a small, collaborative team
- Prioritise tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Provide outstanding customer service with a friendly, approachable manner
- Supervise canteen assistant

What You Bring:
- Food handling experience and understanding of safe food practices
- Barista experience preferred
- Knowledge of small business or tuckshop procedures
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- A genuine passion for providing healthy, homemade-style meals
