Queensland Pathways State College (QPSC), Metropolitan West Campuses (Bundamba and Goodna), is seeking an Industry and Vocational Training Officer to build strong connections between students, industry, and training
providers.
This role supports School-Based Apprenticeships, Traineeships, and work-readiness pathways for students facing barriers to mainstream education, helping them achieve meaningful post-school outcomes.
This position is being offered in a Temporary Part-Time capacity (0.90FTE), 65.25 hours per fortnight.

About the School
Queensland Pathways State College (QPSC) is a purpose-driven state school dedicated to supporting young people aged 15 to 18 who face significant barriers to mainstream education. With campuses across Queensland, including Bundamba and Goodna, QPSC provides a welcoming and inclusive environment where students are empowered to achieve success through a tailored senior transitions program. About the Role
Based at the Bundamba and Goodna campuses, the Industry and Vocational Training Officer will work closely with students, school leadership, employers, and training providers to support vocational pathways, school-based apprenticeships and traineeships, and work-readiness programs. This is a part-time (0.9 FTE) temporary position reporting directly to the Head of Campus. Working hours are approximately 8am to 4pm, including accrued days off (ADO) during school holiday periods.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and maintaining strong partnerships with industry and business to source School-Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship opportunities for students.
- Developing engagement activities and promoting the benefits of vocational training as a career pathway for students.
- Coordinating work experience placement programs, including monitoring students in the workplace and managing required records.
- Providing regular updates to the Head of Campus on program outcomes and addressing any challenges impacting success.
- Supporting students in classrooms through one-on-one and small group learning, wellbeing, and work readiness programs.

- Experience in building and maintaining partnerships with industry and training providers.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, employers, and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of vocational education, School-Based Traineeships and Apprenticeships, and work readiness programs.
- Ability to coordinate and manage events, promotional activities, and student recruitment initiatives.
- Understanding of the challenges faced by young people in alternative education settings and a commitment to supporting their success.
