Are you interested in working for Metro South Health? If you are an experienced Registered Nurse with recent or current working experience in acute hospital settings and have a good understanding and knowledge of nursing practices, then we would love to hear from you.
The Process
This Expression of Interest collects a variety of information that will help identify potentially suitable applicants for future casual and temporary employment opportunities. Additional selection processes (interview, reference checks and pre-employment checks) to further assess suitability for appointment to a specific position may be required.

Your new role:
As a Registered Nurse in the Operating Theatre, you will play a vital role in delivering safe, compassionate, and person-centred care in a dynamic tertiary healthcare environment. You will work collaboratively with a skilled multidisciplinary team to achieve the best possible patient outcomes.
- Provide comprehensive and evidence-based nursing care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Practice independently and as part of a team, demonstrating accountability for your own practice and delegation to Enrolled Nurses and Assistants in Nursing.
- Support and contribute to quality improvement initiatives, clinical standards, and safety frameworks within the Operating Theatre.
- Act as a role model and, where required, provide leadership, mentorship, and education to colleagues and students.
About you:
We are seeking compassionate and motivated Registered Nurses who are committed to excellence in clinical practice and continuous learning.
- The ideal candidate will bring a strong sense of professionalism and teamwork to the role.
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) and a recognised nursing qualification.
- Experience in Operating Theatre (instrument and circulating roles) is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality, person-centred care, with strong critical thinking and time-management skills.
