About the Role

As the School Technical Officer, you will assist in managing the school's ICT network services and provide technical support to staff and students. You will play a key role in maintaining ICT infrastructure, troubleshooting issues, and supporting the effective use of technology across the school. The School Technical Officer reports to the Principal, Business Manager, or nominated delegate.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing advice and assistance to maximise the effectiveness of ICT operations, including installation, maintenance, repair, and replacement of equipment.
  • Supporting staff and students with technical advice and troubleshooting for electronic equipment and computing facilities.
  • Maintaining and supporting the school's ICT infrastructure, including preventative maintenance and emergency repairs.
  • Assisting in delivering training to staff on the effective use of ICT tools.
  • Maintaining technical records and documentation relating to ICT systems and equipment.

This role would suit a technically skilled professional who is passionate about supporting educational outcomes through technology and enjoys working collaboratively in a school environment.

About You

The following traits would be beneficial:

  • Strong technical knowledge of computer systems, server hardware, and networking technologies.
  • Experience supporting desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices (including Apple iPads).
  • Understanding of Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong client focus.
