The Technologies department at Bribie] State High School encompasses Industrial Technology and Design, Food Technologies, and Textiles, providing students with a diverse and engaging curriculum.
About the Role:
Bribie Island State High School is seeking applications for a temporary Acting Head of Department - Technologies position.
Position Details:
- Term 3, 2026: Full-time temporary position.
- Term 4, 2026: Fractional position (0.4 FTE), working collaboratively with the substantive Head of Department as they transition back from family leave.
- Future Opportunities: The fractional position in Term 4 has the potential to extend into the future.
As the Head of Department, you will:
- Lead the Technologies department, providing strategic direction and support to staff.
- Collaborate with the substantive Head of Department during Term 4 to ensure a smooth transition and continuity of leadership.
- Oversee curriculum planning, implementation, and review within the Technologies faculty.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports student engagement and achievement.

The successful candidate will:
- Demonstrate strong curriculum leadership capabilities, with the ability to lead and support staff in delivering high-quality teaching and learning programs.
- Exhibit exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, fostering collaboration and teamwork within the department and across the school.
- Be committed to innovation and continuous improvement, ensuring the Technologies department remains at the forefront of educational excellence.
