William Ross State High School is seeking an enthusiastic teacher aide to join our team.

This position is for 30 hours per week (0.79FTE). Applicants must be willing and able to deliver emergency first aide; training will be provided.

The successful applicant must be capable of, and committed to, providing quality learning support to staff and students.

As the Teacher Aide you will contribute to the provision of a quality educational service by assisting and supporting teachers with the preparation and enhancement of learning materials and associated activities.

Your opportunity:

  • Assist teachers and students with sporting activities, school excursions and supervised educational activities as directed by teaching staff.
  • Support the preparation, organisation, storage and use of teaching resources and equipment, including assisting with equipment management and care.
  • Provide administrative and clerical support, including maintaining class rolls and student records, preparing and duplicating materials, checking bus lists, recording examination results and assisting with off-site activities.
  • Support students in their learning and development, including literacy and numeracy activities, reading, locating reference materials, working with individuals or small groups, and using computers where required.
  • Contribute to student welfare, health and safety by providing appropriate support to students with special needs, assisting with personal care where required, maintaining confidentiality and undertaking first aid duties when suitably trained.
