Haematology Fellow - Clinical Trials - Leukaemia

The Haematology Unit are looking for a fellow to join their team. The fellow will be primarily involved in clinical research with an emphasis on assisting the extensive clinical trials program in particular the leukaemia trials, involving attendance at four or more clinics per week. In addition, clinical or translational research project(s) opportunities will be available. This position also contributes to the after-hours on call and weekend ward service roster shared amongst the registrars.

About the Role
This position has no Staffing and budget responsibilities.
- Attending at least four clinics per week will be required with a focus on trial patients , Associated multi-disciplinary team participation is expected.
- The opportunity to engage in additional clinical activities may be available, subject to research commitments. Participation in the haematology advanced trainees after hours/weekend on call roster (with back up from consultants) is required.
- From the research perspective, the Fellow will be expected to develop in-depth expertise in a chosen field of leukaemia/myeloid research, assist with clinical trials in the field, engage with the multi-disciplinary team and help progress continuous improvements in clinical service delivery in the field. The Fellow will be expected to focus on one or more research projects involving retrospective audits, laboratory based or correlative clinical trial projects which will include presentation and publication of research.
- Demonstrated interest in clinical trial research with detailed knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), understanding of protocol development, ability to seek and supervise patient accrual, clinical follow-up, data collection and where applicable assisting with data analysis.
