About the role
Reporting to the Deputy Clerk and Executive Director, Strategy, Policy and Planning, you will lead a team of eight to deliver high-quality HR, organisational development, and change management services across the Parliamentary Service.
You will oversee the full spectrum of People and Culture services across Queensland.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the People and Culture function to deliver high-quality, client-focused services.
- Collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team to shape strategic priorities and drive organisational performance.
- Manage complex employment, industrial relations, and WHS matters.
- Oversee and lead the Certified Agreement process, ensuring collaborative negotiation and positive outcomes.
- Contribute to strategic transformation and change management programs.
- Oversee workforce planning, leadership development, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Use workforce data to inform reporting and strategic decision-making.
- Represent the Parliamentary Service in negotiations and stakeholder consultations.
- Manage budgets, resources, and vendors to achieve operational excellence.
What you will bring
- Proven success in leading HR teams within complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
- Strong capability in employment and industrial relations, including investigation, negotiation, mediation, and advocacy.
- Demonstrated experience in driving strategic transformation and organisational improvement.
- Proficiency in using workforce data for reporting and strategic advice.
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage at all levels.
- Preparedness to hold or obtain Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator accreditation.
- High levels of judgement, integrity, and resilience.
