Queensland Parliamentary Catering Services is seeking an enthusiastic and professional part time (Wed-Fri) Food and Beverage Attendant to join our team. You'll play a key role in supporting fine dining, café, and event operations within the heritage-listed Parliament House precinct. From hosting high-profile events to providing outstanding service in our dining rooms, this role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your hospitality skills in a unique and rewarding environment.

Key Objectives

  • Deliver high-quality food and beverage service across dining and event settings.
  • Ensure smooth setup, service, and pack down of functions while maintaining excellent presentation.
  • Support efficient operations through accurate order processing and stock management.

Your Role

  • Set up and pack down events, functions, and dining rooms, including coordinating linen services.
  • Assist with food and beverage preparation and maintain clean, well-stocked service areas.
  • Welcome guests and deliver exceptional customer service across a variety of service styles (cocktail, banquet, buffet, fine dining).
  • Ensure responsible service of alcohol and process payments (cash, EFTPOS, account charges).
  • Collaborate with the greater catering team to ensure seamless service delivery and support the induction of new staff.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in banqueting or events; fine dining experience preferred but not essential.
  • Ability to carry 3 plates and clear 5 plates confidently.
  • Bar experience in restaurant or event settings.
  • Current Queensland RSA (mandatory); Food Handlers Certificate preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work under pressure.
