As an Assistant Electorate Officer based in Chinchilla, no two days will be the same. You'll help Bryson Head MP share local stories and highlight progress on delivering outcomes across Callide. You'll also support locals as they navigate government systems, connect them with the right assistance, and advocate for solutions when it matters.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage media and communications for the Member.
- Support and engage with constituents and community groups.
- Build and maintain networks with referral agencies, government departments and ministerial offices.
- Assist the Electorate Officer with confidential secretarial, executive and administrative support for Mr Bryson Head MP.
- Oversee general administration and daily operations of the secondary electorate office (in liaison with the Electorate Officer and building manager).
Additional Responsibilities
- Conduct research into local and electorate‑wide issues.
- Prepare reports, briefs and correspondence for the Member.
- Canvass constituents to understand local priorities.
- Stay informed about emerging community trends and concerns.
Assisting the Electorate Officer With
- Managing the primary inbox and correspondence.
- Reporting security incidents, risks or threats.
- Scheduling events, appointments and meetings for the Member.
- Upholding all financial obligations under legislation and Parliamentary Service policy.
- Reporting technical issues with office or security equipment and assisting with annual stocktake processes.
About You
You will:
- Have advanced skills with digital tools, including social media.
- Draft and format social media content.
- Liaise with constituents, groups and organisations via all communication channels.
- Draft and publish newsletters and community updates.
- Prepare and proofread correspondence for constituents and ministers.
- Work independently with limited supervision.
- Competently use a wide range of software.
- Show initiative and complete tasks promptly.
