QAGOMA is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to fill the role of Registration Assistant with the Gallery's Exhibitions Registration team.The position of Registration Assistant - Exhibitions provides assistance to the Exhibitions Registration team. This role incorporates a range of administrative and art handling activities such as tracking and payment of invoices, production of records and reports, data entry, filing, obtaining quotes, packing and unpacking of artworks, liaising with internal and external parties, and other duties as required by the Registrars.The position is supervised by the Assistant Registrars - Exhibitions and reports to the Senior Registrar, Exhibitions.

Key Duties:

  • Provide administrative support to the Exhibitions Registration team including:
    • Requisitioning and purchasing of materials and equipment;
    • Updating budget spreadsheets and payment of invoices;
    • Preparation, production, recording and filing of documentation and correspondence;
    • Creation and maintenance of accurate records using the KE Emu Collection Management System.


  • Provide artwork handling assistance to ensure that objects in the Gallery's temporary custody are packed and unpacked, handled, secured, stored and transported to current museum standards.


  • Provide assistance in exhibition related activities such as obtaining quotes for the packing and movement of works of art, monitor loan periods, and effecting and monitoring insurance coverage on work of art on loan to or in the custody of the Gallery.


  • Assist in ensuring that the Gallery's Collection, and the objects in its temporary custody, are handled, secured, stored and transported to current museum standards.


  • Under supervision develop skills in the management of incoming loans for Learning and Children's Art Centre exhibition projects.


  • Participate as a member of multi-disciplinary and inter-departmental teams for specific projects.


  • Provide a range of other registration support duties as required.
