The newly created position of Digital Transformation Manager will play a central role in achieving the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA’s) vision to be the leading institution for the contemporary art of Australia, Asia and the Pacific and our mission to engage people with art and artists through memorable and transformative experiences. Reporting to the Assistant Director, Development and Commercial Services, this experienced professional will manage and lead QAGOMA's digital transformation at an exciting time in the Gallery’s digital journey.

Key duties include:

  • Lead the Gallery's Digital Transformation including the oversight and delivery of a four year digital infrastructure plan.
  • Lead major digital infrastructure projects, including the implementation of a new collection management system, digital asset management system, the development and implementation of new CRM and ticketing systems, and create shared narratives around the implementation and delivery of these projects.
  • Research, identify and introduce productivity and collaboration tools across the Gallery including developing appropriate training modules and support.
  • Work with revenue raising areas (Retail, F&B, Members, Business Development, Foundation, Ticketing and others) to identify and implement e-commerce, revenue raising and commercial opportunities.

The right person for the job will demonstrate the following capabilities:

  • Expertise and experience in people and technology leadership with an understanding of emerging technologies and digital trends and how they relate to a cultural institution.
  • An ability to probe information and identify critical gaps, focusing on identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, story-telling and communication skills with a proven ability to develop clear narratives and strong relationships.
