Key outcomes/Accountabilities

The aim of this role is to:

Undertake and manage a team undertaking compliance operations, such as audits and investigations and decide on the appropriate action to take.  This will include:

  • identifying and implementing proactive compliance initiatives including investigations, job site audits, desktop audits and surveillance and covert activities;
  • assessing, prioritising and investigating complaints including
    • investigations into suspected breaches of the Queensland Building Construction Commission Act 1991 and the Building Industry Fairness (Security of Payment) Act 2017, which may includeundertaking site visits and surveillance activities;
    • preparing reports, making recommendations and instructing lawyers regarding prosecution and other litigation;
    • prepare briefings for management;
    • managing day to day staffing issues such as human resources, training, conflict etc.

 Provide advice concerning the interpretation and application of the Queensland Building Construction Commission Act 1991, Building Industry Fairness (Security of Payment) Act 2017 and relevant policies.

 Lead support and provide direction to the team, including:

  • Monitoring and reporting the ongoing operational performance of the team in
  • line with business performance metrics and KPI's;
  • Assess and identify gaps in operational performance and knowledge and report to the Manager Resolution Services Operations as required.

 Cultivate relationships with stakeholders and partnership approaches to achieving QBCC's aims.

 Contribute to the ongoing review and development of QBCC's operation and performance.

 Represent QBCC in promotional and educational activities and before the tribunal and courts.

Provide exceptional customer service to all staff of the Commission and external customers.
