Principal Certification Officer

The Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) is seeking a Principal Certification Officer to join the Certification Unit. The Certification Unit is responsible for the management of the data required for and production of the Senior Education Profile (SEP). The unit provides advice to schools and other learning providers, students, parents/carers and QCAA staff about senior secondary certification, Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) eligibility and information recorded in the QCAA Portal applications - Student Management and Student Portal.

What you will do
In the Principal Certification Officer role, you will:
- Lead end-to-end business processes related to the production of the Senior Education Profile (SEP) and reissue services.
- Design and implement systems to ensure data quality, accuracy and validity for certification.
- Maintain excellent knowledge of legislative, policy, curriculum and assessment influences (both internal and external to the QCAA) that affect certification.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to support evolving business and ICT system requirements to optimise QCAA's Student Management, Student Administration and Student Portal applications.
- Work collaboratively with QCAA ICT staff regarding business requirements, adjustments, developments and functionality to enable and enhance data capture, enrolments, certification, reporting and printing.
- Leverage expert knowledge of the ICT interfaces between QCAA and external stakeholders such as the Department of Education, Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre, Department of Trade, Employment and Training, schools and students to meet data management, data transfer and certification requirements.
- Retrieve, interpret and communicate complex information from databases as required by various stakeholders.
- Participate in User Acceptance Testing with various business units for releases of data management and certification software updates.
