The Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) is seeking a part-time (0.4fte) Principal Analyst to join the Performance Analytics Unit. The Performance Analytics Unit is responsible for collecting, analysing and disseminating data to a range of organisations and the public.

What you will do

In the Principal Analyst role, you will:

  • Lead design and development of the analytical aspects of QCAA activities including the National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN), senior school assessment, Vocational Education and Training (VET).
  • Use a range of appropriate methodologies to implement strategic analyses, compile and distribute reports, findings and recommendations. Knowledge or experience with any of the following would be highly regarded: Structured Query Language (SQL), R, R Markdown, Microsoft Power BI, Ruby on Rails, LaTeX
  • Perform quality control over large-scale, complex datasets/databases required for NAPLAN, QCAA senior assessment and reporting, and production of Senior Education Profiles.
  • Facilitate analyses of marking operations and result calculation for NAPLAN, online assessment trials and senior subject external assessment.
  • Lead data analysis and reporting to provide advice to QCAA senior leadership group, QCAA board and external stakeholders
  • Work collaboratively with other teams to review and evaluate processes and procedures in data collection, analysis, management and reporting to ensure continuous improvement and responsiveness to evolving internal and external requirements

This role reports to the Manager Performance Analytics Unit. No roles report directly to this role.
