Director, Development Assessment


The purpose of the position is to provide development assessment advice and services to meet Cross River Rail Project and precinct development requirements. This position will focus on developing a regulatory development assessment framework for Cross River Rail Priority Development Areas, conducting development assessment processes and providing advice for statutory planning processes being conducted by other government departments. Additionally, this position will assist with statutory planning advice and services to assist in the establishment of Cross River Rail related statutory planning instruments. The position reports to the General Manager, Planning & Economic Development.

Key Responsibilities
• Oversee all aspects associated with the formulation of a development assessment framework for the Cross River Rail Delivery Authority, in particular for Cross River Rail Priority Development Areas.
• Conduct development assessment functions in a manner consistent with the Economic Development Act 2012.
• Provide specialist development assessment and statutory planning advice to assist other government departments undertaking regulatory functions.
• Provide statutory planning and/or development assessment advice, as requested, to support Project procurement and delivery activities.
• Ensure all linkages and interfaces between the other key work streams within the Project Team are effectively managed, coordinated, documented and where applicable, the associated risks are effectively mitigated.
• Assist to develop and maintain strong, positive and effective critical external relationships and communications with key stakeholders.
• Develop a respectful and collaborative partnering approach within the project team and within the larger Delivery Authority team for the provision of all services.
