Cross River Rail is South-East Queenslands largest infrastructure project which includes a new 10.2-kilometre rail line running from Salisbury Station to Exhibition Station, incorporating a 5.9-kilometre tunnel under the Brisbane River and CBD. It is a critical public transport infrastructure project which will deliver four new underground stations at Boggo Road, Woolloongabba, Albert Street and Roma Street, comprehensive Station upgrades from Salisbury to Dutton Park and the upgrade of Exhibition Station to a full-time station, helping Brisbane to evolve as a world-class city. Cross River Rail will improve our quality of life, help our economy to keep growing, generate thousands of jobs and activate urban development within South-East Queensland.

About the Role

As our Senior Communications Manager you will be responsible for providing high-level, accurate and timely internal and external communications advice to support our Executive Management Team.

Reporting to the Director, Strategy and External Affairs, you provide strategic communications support, to protect the corporate reputation of the Delivery Authority as well as the social licence of Cross River Rail as a major infrastructure project.

As a leader in our Marketing, Media and Communications team you will deliver and manage a range of high-quality communications products, which includes Ministerial and Parliamentary correspondence, speeches and presentations, submission of industry awards and a range of internal communications products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and prepare a range of complex project Ministerial and Parliamentary correspondence.
  • Oversee a range of internal communications products including All Staff eDMs, All Staff eMeets, All Staff Offsite events and site filming in collaboration with the wider Communications team.
  • Communicate critical information about the Cross River Rail Project to stakeholders and the public in a clear and consistent manner, in partnership with the broader Strategy, Communication and Engagement team.
  • Oversee and guide the preparation of speeches, event briefing notes and presentations for the Chief Executive Officer as required.
  • Proactively identify, organise and support external speaking engagement opportunities, including conferences, presentations and strategic meetings for the Delivery Authority's Executive Management Team (EMT).
  • Act as a consultant and facilitator to staff, assisting them to increase the effectiveness and professional presentation of Cross River Rail's core messages to the public.
  • Proactively identify opportunities and facilitate the entry of the Project into relevant industry awards, to highlight the significance of the Project and build social licence.

About You

Ideally you will have experience in government, construction and/or the infrastructure industry with a demonstrated ability to structure written communications effectively. As a leader you have the ability to share and delegate tasks to manage and monitor workloads of your team to help grow, mentor and develop their strategic communications knowledge base.

You are effective at building strong stakeholder relationships both internally and externally and have experience in supporting senior executives.

**Please note, this role will be offered as a maximum term contract until 31st December 2021**
