As the Education Officer, Future Makers, you'll play a key role in delivering on our strategic priorities by creating and facilitating dynamic STEM programs for teachers and students across Queensland. Your responsibilities will include:
Program Delivery:
Support the Education Manager, Future Makers, in the operational delivery of the Future Makers program.Co-facilitate in-person and online Teacher Professional Development, STEM programs for students, and community engagement events.
Educational Expertise:
Use your high-level knowledge of the Australian Curriculum, ACARA V9 changes, and best practices in pedagogy, object-based learning, and design thinking to develop and deliver educational programs.
Logistical Coordination:
Coordinate program logistics, including equipment, consumables, travel arrangements, venue hire, resources, risk assessments, catering, and marketing and media content.Ensure seamless execution with attention to detail.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Actively participate in working parties with internal and external stakeholders.Build and maintain collaborative partnerships with stakeholders, community, cultural and education networks, with a focus on teachers in the Western Downs and Gladstone regions.
About You:
- Previous experience in delivering engaging STEM programs, especially in educational environments such as Teacher Professional Development workshops.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Familiarity with the Australian Curriculum, pedagogical practices, and a passion for STEM education.
- A passion for bringing the collections and stories of the museum to life for students across Queensland.
Two temporary 0.6FTE roles are available until November 2025. Regular planned intrastate travel will be required.
