Assistant Producer, Events (Identified First Nations)


Queensland Museum Kurilpa

We're looking for a motivated Assistant Producer, Events (Indigenous Identified) to support the development and delivery of public programs and events at Queensland Museum, Kurilpa.

You will be joining a small but dedicated team committed to sharing First Nations stories and culture with audiences, while also exploring new event formats that invite diverse audiences to discover the Museum's collections. With cultural advice provided by our First Nations team, you will be well-supported in this role to develop programs that embed First Nations voices in Queensland's continuing story.

In addition, you'll support the team in delivering a broad range of events and educational programs that showcase Queensland Museum's collections, research and expertise. If you are a collaborative team member who is passionate about sharing Queensland's stories, we invite you to apply.

The Queensland Museum is the custodian of the state's First Nations Ancestral Remains, Secret Sacred objects, and cultural materials, which are cared for by the Museum at the request of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. The Queensland Museum has been actively repatriating Ancestral Remains and cultural material to First Nations communities across Australia since the 1990s.

The Queensland Museum acknowledges the First Peoples - the Traditional Custodians of the lands, waters and sky where we live and work. We honour their unbroken connection to Country, culture, and community. We pay respect to Elders past, present and future. We recognise our shared history and commit to embedding First Nations voices in Queensland's continuing story.

To perform this role it is essential that the person is an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991.
