What you'll do
- Provide advice to senior management, partners, and other stakeholders to influence the strategic planning and delivery of complex and/or innovative BBV and STI related preventive health programs and service delivery models.
- Contribute to planning for the development of services and future directions for service delivery capacity, workforce development, flexible resource use and alternative service models with a focus on viral hepatitis.
- Coordinate planning, strategy development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of preventive health services and programs addressing BBVs and STIs.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders and non-government service providers to build preventive health capacity in the sector, improve service delivery and respond to emerging trends.
- Apply evidence, theory and judgement in planning, implementing and evaluating services and programs addressing BBVs and STIs.
- Represent the Department of Health as appropriate in departmental forums and working groups in the development and implementation of strategies, policies and guidelines addressing BBVs and STIs.
- Manage the collection and dissemination of data amongst key stakeholders to underpin evidence-based design, implementation and evaluation of programs and services including across harm reduction initiatives such as the Queensland needle and syringe program.
About you
You will have:
- at least a tertiary degree qualification in public health or health promotion
- demonstrated ability to apply a high level of knowledge, expertise and skills addressing BBV and STI issues in a complex, contemporary population health environment
- demonstrated ability to engage in high level, operational and community consultation on BBV and STI issues to a range of cross-sector stakeholders
- demonstrated ability to design and manage BBV and STI projects, programs and services and lead change through dissemination and communication of key outcomes
- demonstrated ability to research and analyse information and interpret data on complex issues to inform development of policy and procedures and quality service improvements related to BBV and STI prevention, testing and treatment in population health.
