Regional Area Officer

The Queensland Rural and Industry Development Authority (QRIDA) is seeking a person with a passion for agribusiness looking to advance their career in an organisation focused on supporting rural and regional Queensland. Providing administrative and analytical support to three of QRIDA’s Regional Area Managers in Roma, Toowoomba and Kingaroy this role will assist in analysing farm businesses, developing applications for financial assistance and undertaking regional marketing and communication activities. Knowledge in agriculture and rural lending will be well regarded. The role will be based in either Roma or Toowoomba and will be negotiated with the preferred candidate. The role will have the opportunity to operate in other areas of the state as business need dictates. For the full selection criteria, please refer to the role description attached.

The responsibilities and duties undertaken by the role include, but are not limited to:

- Support three Regional Area Managers in Roma, Toowoomba and Kingaroy with client and general office administration and promotional activities as required.

- Provide an effective and professional additional point of contact for clients and assist in addressing client and stakeholder enquiries about QRIDA programs and services.

- Compile client loan application briefs for follow-up by Regional Area Managers, contact clients in compiling and following up information.

- Review client cash flows and other application documentation for completeness.

This position could provide the platform for further career opportunities within the Authority, as it continues to expand the programs and services it administers on behalf of the Queensland and Commonwealth Governments.

The Queensland Rural and Industry Development Authority (QRIDA) is a specialist provider of government financial and advisory support to rural and regional Queensland.

As the Queensland Government's experts in rural finance, we also administer the State Government's Farm Business Debt Mediation program, the Farm Debt Reconstruction Office, conduct a biennial Rural Debt Survey, undertake research and provide advice to the Minister for Agricultural Industry Development and Fisheries.

QRIDA is empowered under the Rural and Regional Adjustment Act 1994 to deliver additional programs and services across a range of industry sectors and to local, state and territory governments throughout Australia and for the Australian Government.
