Deliver high level clinical scientific services within the Respiratory and Sleep Sciences Unit of the Thoracic Medicine Department, Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH), as a member of a multidisciplinary team to stakeholders/customers of Metro North Hospital and Health Service (MNHHS), and provide leadership (including education and research focus) and supervision for the multi-disciplinary team delivering respiratory medicine scientific services.

About the Role

  • Monitor the professional standards and outcomes produced by subordinate staff, and the work unit's activities that may lead to the identification and implementation of service improvement initiatives, and contribute to the development of policies, procedures and plans for respiratory sciences services.
  • Contribute to the achievement and maintenance of sleep laboratory accreditation, and ongoing maintenance of respiratory laboratory accreditation.
  • Actively maintain professional development, and provide leadership in the professional development of other clinicians within the respiratory sciences team, facilitating training and assisting in their performance management.
  • Provide general clinical advice to professional and operational supervisors, relevant service managers and other stakeholders regarding service delivery.
  • Contribute to the identification, development and implementation of quality improvement activities in the respiratory and sleep laboratories.
