Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner (HW5)

Provide high quality culturally safe, clinical primary health care services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients and communities.
The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner plays an important role in improving the quality of communication for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients and works in collaboration with other health professionals, community members and stakeholders to strengthen community involvement in health service delivery, provide health education and promote programs in the community.
This role requires the occupant to operate with a level of independence and at times may be required to provide on-call (after hours) emergency services on a rotational basis.

Any successful applicant who does not hold the Diploma in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care or Practice qualification will be appointed for a fixed term, subject to engaging and participating in a learning agreement to obtain the required qualifications(s) with essential level support under HR Policy G10 Study and Research Assistance Scheme (SARAS)
Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community.
Salary Information (HW5):
Total remuneration value of up to $7,791 p.m. is comprised of:
- A salary between $2,959.80 - $3,141.00 p.f.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading

Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) Requirements:
