Senior Inspector of Mines (Mechanical)

Resources Safety & Health Queensland (RSHQ) is seeking a Senior Inspector of Mines to lead our Mechanical team in the Coal Mines Inspectorate.
As part of the Coal Mines Inspectorate, this role will work closely with a small team of highly motivated specialists tasked with regulating coal mines in Queensland, while providing support and education to coal mine workers and obligation holders through forums, guidance material and other means.
This is your opportunity to provide leadership to the organisation on equipment used at Queensland coal mines and any associated risks to strive for RSHQ's goal of zero serious harm to resource workers.
The right candidate will provide leadership and expert advice to the leadership group, while mentoring and directing Inspectors.

Reporting to the Deputy Chief Inspector of Mines, the Senior Inspector of Mines (Mechanical) is responsible for providing the coal leadership team with advice on issues related to mines in Queensland.
The Senior Inspector of Mines carries out the functions of an inspector to help ensure that the coal mining industry operates at an acceptable level of risk.
