This role provides support to the coal mining inspectorate within Resources Safety and Health Queensland (RSHQ), carrying out the functions of an inspector, helping ensure that the coal mining industry operates at an acceptable level of risk.
The role provides technical advice on a range of mining safety and health matters to industry in particular mining operations at surface coal mines.

Resources Safety and Health Queensland (RSHQ) is an independent regulator for worker safety and health across Queensland's mining, quarrying, petroleum, gas, and explosives industries. RSHQ is seeking motivated, experienced and suitably qualified coal mine workers to work as Inspectors of Mines.
This permanent role sits within RSHQ's Coal Inspectorate and offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in achieving improved safety and health outcomes for coal mine workers in Queensland.
As an Inspector of Mines, you will work with a small team of Inspectors focussing on regulatory compliance and education at surface coal mines, through inspections and audits, and by taking appropriate regulatory action when required. You will investigate reported breaches of safety and health legislation, accidents, incidents, and complaints about the operation of coal mines, and where necessary require remedial action to be undertaken to prevent recurrence.
Providing coal mine workers and industry leaders with authoritative, professional and timely advice on issues related to safety and health matters at coal mines in Queensland will allow for continual improvement of safety outcomes and systems in the sector.
