An exciting opportunity exists for a Dental Specialist to provide comprehensive specialist orthodontic diagnosis, management and treatment of complex malocclusions for clients eligible for Public Specialist Orthodontic treatment in the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Services.

Oral Health services are provided to patient groups that meet the eligibility criteria for accessing public dental services in Queensland. The Specialist Orthodontist provides advice on orthodontic case selection and treatment planning to dentists.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Triage and assess eligible patients referred for public specialist orthodontic care using the Queensland Public Oral Health Service Orthodontic severity categories and ISOH priority care framework
  • Provide comprehensive specialist orthodontic management and treatment for eligible clients by providing high quality orthodontic care
  • Diagnose and develop treatment plans for complex malocclusions and the coordination through multi-disciplinary case management to ensure that treatment is of the highest standard.
  • Facilitate and contribute to the multi-disciplinary team management of eligible clients with complex treatment requirements, including orthognathic surgery or management of clients with cleft lip and/or palate and other cranio-facial anomalies by liaising with tertiary facilities.

Remuneration value up to $22 296 p.a., comprising salary rates $79.94 - $93.62 p.h., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (DS1) (part time position, 8 hrs p.f.).
