Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service have opportunities for exceptional Provisional Fellows (ATY3 PF) to join our Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine team, providing high quality perioperative care to patients in the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service.

The Department of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine is able offer the following fellowships:

  • General fellowship with a subspeciality interest in allergy
  • General fellowship with a subspecialty interest in perioperative medicine
  • General fellowship with a subspecialty interest in regional anaesthesia
  • General fellowship with a special interest in clinical simulation
  • General fellowship with a special interest in quality and safety
  • General fellowship with a special interest in education
  • General fellowship with a special interest leadership

These positions will be available from February or August 2025 for 6 or 12 months and fellowships with a subspecialty interest will have 10% of their time allocated to their subspecialty interest. During this period, the successful candidate(s) will work across the SCHHS, Sunshine Coast University Hospital, Nambour General Hospital and Caloundra Health Service. 

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Initiate and be responsible for the safe clinical care of patients while in the care of the Department of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine
  • Ensure the transfer of patients and post-discharge care of patients is arranged as required.
  • Provide medical reports and participate in clinical incident management resolution as required by the Director, DAPM and Medical Executive Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health service (SCHHS).
  • Supervise and teach, Junior Medical Staff and Medical Students attached to the Department of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine.

Salary rates: $4,966.90 – $5,758.70 p.f., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (L4 - L9) (Fixed Term Temporary Full-time 6-12 months, 76 hrs p.f. (several positions available). Applications will remain current for 12 months.
