Clinical Midwife - Maternity Outpatients and Maternity Day Assessment Unit

An exciting opportunity exists for a Clinical Midwife to lead and deliver women centred midwifery care at an advanced level based on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Registered Nurse and Midwife Standards for Practice. The Maternity Outpatients Unit and Maternity Day Assessment Unit, at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital provides non-discretionary inpatient and outpatient care to over 3800 women per year throughout the perinatal period. It is a CSCF Level 5 service. The service has the capability of caring for women who birth from 29 weeks gestation. The service operates within the acute setting 5 days per week for Antenatal Clinics 8-10hr shifts, & Maternity Day Assessment 10hr hours per day, 7 days a week.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Adhere to defined service quality standards, health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being understand to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
- Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 2, Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health Award) – State 2015 – Generic Level Statements Nurse Grade 6, Band 1 and the Queensland Public Service values.
- Understand your broad responsibilities for safety and quality in healthcare, actively participate in continuous quality and safety improvement activities within the workplace and notify a relevant clinical or non-clinical responsible officer when concerns exist about workplace or patient safety.
Comprising salary rates $55.44- $58.30 p.h., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade 6, Band 1) (part time positions available, hours negotiable).
