You will provide a safe environment by ensuring cleanliness and provide staff with ready access to clean linen, material and equipment. You will have the opportunity to interact with patients by moving them safely throughout the hospital and assist the clinical team to position and support their patients during treatment and care.
Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.

Operational Support includes the Environmental Service, Food Service and Logistics and Supply Service. The Environmental Service provides the resources to support Cleaning, Linen supply, Waste collection and staff for patient movement (porterage).
Key Responsibilities include:
- Maintain a clean and safe environment in accordance with Infection Control Guidelines.
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled cleaning tasks as per task specification / procedures list.
- Assist clinical staff to position and support patients during treatment and care.
- Transfer materials, linen and waste.
- Provide assistance to staff within the Operational Unit and participate in a range of food services operational tasks as part of direct duties and shift responsibilities or as instructed by the direct Supervisors/Manager. This may include: goods receival, storage of goods, food preparation, stock management control, serving on the plating line, trolley delivery to wards, serving meals and beverages to patients, cleaning in areas of responsibilities, dishwashing etc.

• Call in casual role to replace shifts as required, emergent leave and to backfill rosters within the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service and may work across various locations including Birtinya, Nambour, Caloundra, Maleny and Gympie.
• Shifts span 24 hours, 7 days per week including nights, weekends and public and school holidays.
• Your availability is crucial.
• Position is task orientated & can walk significant distances when on shift.
• We are looking for candidates that are available to work all hours at short notice, have their own transport and able to perform physical tasks on their feet for the entire shift.
Salary rates: $39.05 - $41.66 p.h. (OO2) (multiple casual call in roles, must be available 24 hrs a day/7 days a week, including weekends, public and school holidays).
