As the Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities, you will contribute to the efficient and effective operation and environment of Foxwell State Secondary College by providing a high level of grounds and facilities to the Principal, Business Manager or nominated delegate.

About the Role

As the Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities, you will play a vital role in maintaining the school's grounds and facilities to a high standard. Reporting directly to the Principal, Business Manager, or nominated delegate, you will perform a variety of tasks to support the efficient operation of the college.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing day-to-day activities such as delivering mail, preparing classrooms, and managing school supplies.
  • Supporting security duties, including locking and unlocking buildings and maintaining security systems.
  • Undertaking grounds maintenance, including mowing, gardening, and waste collection.
  • Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and maintaining tools and equipment.
  • Communicating with internal and external stakeholders regarding maintenance and facilities-related matters.

This role would suit someone who enjoys hands-on work, has a keen eye for detail, and takes pride in creating a safe and welcoming environment for students and staff.

About You

The following traits would be beneficial:

  • Experience in grounds maintenance or facilities management.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and follow set instructions.
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Progressional roles show a salary range spanning two classifications. Appointment will be made at the level appropriate to skill and fulfilment of required criteria.
