Your Opportunity

As the Advisory Visiting Teacher (Behaviour), you will support the team through, collaborative problem-solving and the implementation of evidence-informed behaviour strategies.

You will have responsibility for leading the following activities and delivery of the following key tasks:

  • Work collaboratively with regional and school-based teams to strengthen behaviour support practices and improve outcomes for students with complex behavioural and engagement needs
  • Assist teachers and school leaders to plan, implement and review effective behaviour supports and inclusive learning environments aligned with departmental policy, procedures and evidence-informed practices
  • Support schools to develop and implement high-quality student support plans, including Individual Behaviour Support Plans, risk assessments and staff response plans
  • Build the capability and confidence of school teams to implement proactive, preventative and responsive behaviour strategies that support student engagement, wellbeing and learning.
  • Use data-informed practices to guide planning, monitor student progress and evaluate the effectiveness of behaviour supports and interventions
  • Contribute to a multidisciplinary, regionally coordinated approach to supporting students with complex behavioural and engagement needs
  • Establish and maintain effective professional relationships with school teams, regional staff and external agencies to coordinate support for students
  • Maintain records and manage resources related to the Behaviour Advisory Visiting Teacher service as required by the service delivery manager
