Elanora State High School is seeking a passionate, innovative, enthusiastic, experienced, and highly motivated Acting Head of Department to join our school community and provide strong instructional leadership within the Science department. This role requires excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills, along with a commitment to collaboration, professional development and fostering a positive and inclusive environment.

Your opportunity:

• As a collaborative leader experienced in quality assessment design, you will lead the development and delivery of science curriculum and excellence programs that are rigorous and engaging; raise the quality of teaching, enhance student outcomes across the School, and lead students' high achievement.
• Experience teaching Chemistry or Physics would be advantageous, but not essential.

• Set high standards for student and staff performance.
• Support professional learning and continuous improvement.
• Build strong partnerships with students, families and the community.
• Provide strategic, future-focused leadership.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
• Manage people, finances, facilities and curriculum resources effectively.
