Duties and responsibilities we'll trust you with
- Delivering a secure, high quality ICT and digital environment for clients and staff while meeting SLQ's strategic commitments
- Participating in a high performing ICT team in the delivery of sustainable ICT environment while ensuring professional and responsible services to staff and clients. This includes undertaking day to day work, achieving key service objectives and meeting organisational priorities
- For this Systems Administration Officer vacancy, we require technical expertise and experience in the following:
- Planning, administering, managing and documenting the production and development environments, ensuring the effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This includes assisting in the monitoring and maintenance of the whole environment, systems security, patching, backups and updates
- Collaborating and building strong relationships with key internal stakeholders as well as external groups such as government and industry, to ensure that ICT services are progressive, relevant and solutions driven. This includes researching changes in technology, keeping up to date on new systems, programs and platforms as well as developing a comprehensive understanding of ICT best practice and standards
- Contributing to the team annual program schedule and participating in the Branch planning process to ensure that relevant, appropriate and meaningful activities are delivered to the clients and staff
- Participating in internal committees, projects and working groups while collaborating with other teams across SLQ. Providing high quality stakeholder engagement ensuring SLQ is represented in various forums including working with staff across different levels and roles
- Contributing to business improvement activities ensuring relevant policies, procedures and guidelines meet best practice and SLQ requirements. This includes a continuous improvement cycle for feedback, raising concerns and generating solutions
- Working effectively with colleagues and peers while contributing to a productive and positive work environment in times of change and uncertainty. This includes being a proactive member of Infrastructure & Security or Business Engagement teams and the broader ICT Services branch as well as providing supervision, guidance and/or mentoring to subordinate staff, casual employees and/or volunteers ensuing they are included, supported and well-informed
- Participating in, contributing to and/or managing financial, human resource and/or ICT responsibilities as per the organisational delegations
