As part of our Metadata team, you'll work in a client-focused environment where your contributions help shape how State Library's physical, digital, and electronic collections are discovered, accessed, and preserved.
Your work will centre on bringing newly acquired content to life through thoughtful arrangement and description, while enhancing and enriching existing collections to ensure they are meaningful and accessible to all who seek them.

Role requirements
Qualifications Technical/educational:
To be considered for this role, you are required to hold a relevant/related degree and eligibility for professional membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA).
Operational experience:
Understanding of metadata standards, practices, and tools for original cataloguing, including but not limited to RDA, Dewey Decimal Classification, DACS, LCSH, and MARC21 formats.
The role requires proficiency with digital technologies and systems. Attention to detail, troubleshooting and critical thinking are essential to working with collections.
- Applications will remain current for a period of up to 12 months and may be considered for other vacancies (identical or similar).
- Appointments are subject to criminal history checks in accordance with section 52 of the Public Sector Act 2022.
